I am surprised at the positive review on this one. It is the worst case of cloning I have seen in a casual game yet. It is a Big Kahuna Reef clone on a massive level. Even the graphics and audio are almost identical to that game.

I agree with all the points in your review, a nice puzzle game, very addictive. If you’ve gotten bored of match-3, this might be the one to bring you back again.

Sara,
I have to disagree with you
The games are both match-threes set underwater and have similar tile sets made up of sea critters, but the similarities end there.
-BKR uses a variety of differently-shaped grids while the grids in DBS remain more or less square.
-The core concept in BKR is to light up the entire grid to fill up the tiki pole, whereas in DBS it’s to make treasures fall to the bottom of the grid
-DBS has a completely different power-up system
-DBS doesn’t offer a level editor or screen-savers
Hope this helps,
~Erin

In reply to Sara - I can see exactly what you mean, but in the end all match-3s are ‘clones’ with various themes (space, aztec, underwater etc). I think with this game they did try to change the gameplay a fair bit from most other match-3s, including Big Kahuna.
Unfortunately though, the casual game market is like this at the moment - innovation is slow, and there are many repeating themes and ideas. Vote with your wallet, I guess…

This is a nice 3match puzzle game- similar to Rise of Atlantis & Atlantis Quest. The graphics & music are nice. This is a soothing game!
